Lars Ulrich is the drummer for heavy metal legends Metallica. The band spent years on the fringe of popular music commanding a huge live following but being excluded by radio and television until their break through 'Black' album. Lars is not only a founding member of the band but one of the principal songwriters and band spokesman. He has also produced a Metallica - Drum Book/CD Pack. Lars began life in Denmark and nearly followed his fathers path of becomming a tennis pro. But after seeing Deep Purple and drummer Ian Paice in concert he changed his focus to Rock and Roll.
