Charlie Watts is the drummer for the legendary Rolling Stones one of the most famous rock bands of all time.
Named after a Muddy Waters Song The Rolling Stones were heavily influenced by black American music and helped bring the' Blues' style to a wider audience in the 1960's. Charlie's drumming reflects this influence.
Charlie Watts continues to drum for the Rolling Stones 5 decades after they began making music. He also leads his own Big Band.
Charlie is infamous for not playing the Hi Hat on the snare drum back beat. Some people see it as bad technique others say it is the secret to his great sound- you be the judge. Here's a great example; "Monkey Man" Rolling Stones.
