Steve Smith came to attention in the late 1970's with the rock band Journey. He played on the classic "Departure" album that included hits like "Any Way You Want It".
Steve started out playing Jazz and Big Band and in the late 1980's after leaving Journey he formed his own Jazz based band Vital Information.

Steve is hugely respected and popular with other drummers and tours the world conducting drum clinics. Check him out at a clinic in the video below.
